THIS not THAT part 2

Our theme for the month of July is “THIS not THAT”.  Following on from our last blog post, here are a few more handy tips that you can implement in your home immediately.  These small changes add up to make a huge difference.

#1.   USE NATURAL CLEANING PRODUCTS

We usually reach for detergent cleaners every time we need to clean something in the home but there is a better alternative to them and that is a mixture of baking soda, white vinegar, and essential oils. This all-purpose cleaner is not only effective, but it’s safe too.

#2.  PREVENT HERBS FROM WILTING TOO FAST

You can prolong the life of your herbs by chopping them up and freezing them or drying them right away. You can freeze the herbs in oil before they start wilting.

#3.  YOU CAN DO WITHOUT COTTON PADS

Cotton pads are single-use items that go to the trash. An alternative is reusable cotton face pads which can be washed. If you don’t fancy this kind of cotton pad, you can also use a washcloth or face towel. They are just as good at getting dirt off your face.

#4.   CHANGE YOUR TOOTHBRUSH

Bamboo toothbrushes are widely available, whether online or in stores. Unlike their plastic counterparts that take around 500 years to break down, bamboo toothbrushes only take a few months.

#5.   SWITCHING TO LED LIGHTS

It’s time we switch to LED light bulbs. LED is more energy-efficient, has a longer lifespan, and has no UV or heat emissions.

Comment and tell us what small swaps you have made for a better environment.
