Bagasse – Sugarcane
Bagasse is the sugarcane fiber waste left after juice extraction in the sugar industry, meaning the raw material for packaging is a waste product of another industry. Sugarcane and bamboo are incredibly fast growing plants, making them highly valuable as material in the renewable resource industry. Bagasse is biodegradable and compostable, and will break down in a home compost heap or worm farm, as well as commercial composting facilities.
